It's been a busy month of May for me, I celebrated a birthday, and finally got the hang of this website thing. I've taken the plunge and hired some clinic space - well, perhaps less of a plunge and more of a dipping of my toes in the water as its just one evening a week at the moment. I am excited about the next few months though. I've worked on my marketing material and am attending a number of events to help promote myself and the wonders of Chinese Medicine. The low cost clinic in Wimbledon continues to thrive and it is wonderful to see some faces we haven't seen for a while reappearing for some 'maintenance' treatments. I've just got to find my feet with this blogging thing....I'll get there.
As this is my first ever website I thought I would write my first blog about creating it. Whilst I'm a novice in creating websites I have managed sites in the past so, my reluctance to get started certainly wasn't about fear of doing it. I'm not quite sure why it has taken me so long but I finally got the urge in the last couple of days. My sister designed my logo for me months ago, my niece had taken my photos and I had some images taken whist in the caribbean and Ireland that I also thought would be nice to use. So what was holding me back? I suppose I wasn't really sure what I wanted to say about the treatments that I offer! Or was it that I wasn't really sure how to convey what I do? Fortunately there are a lot of acupuncturists out there with some great website so lots of inspiration was found among my peers. The British Acupuncture Council's website was also helpful in order to provide links to useful information without the need for me to come up with new ways of explaining how good acupuncture can be. I've asked friends for their opinion, so lets wait and see what they say... Down the line I'm sure there'll be things about it that I don't like but I can change it and if there is anything you have to say about it I'm always grateful for feedback. So now that the website has been pretty much ticked off the list I can get back to swatting up on Tan and Tung style treatments! Caroline
